1. Vishwas Patil, the new Villian of Bureaucracy!!
Yesterday’s headline of Loksatta finished IAS Vishwas Patil. Actually Vishwas Patil was finished exactly a year ago when his own brother tarnished his image publicly in ‘Loksatta’. Today an editorial by Girish Kuber was the final nail in the coffin. Every Media person, big or small, in my10 groups on Whatstapp was giving out documents, incidents & cases of corruption done by Vishwas Patil since years. I truly believe in the power of media. See what they have done…But friends, was Vishwas Patil corrupt only as his stint as CEO-SRA? Was he clean when he started or when he was in the midst of his career? Why did not anyone show equal enthusiasm when he was say a ZP CEO or at Film City as the MD? Had anyone acted then, today Vishwas Patil would have been in check since then…I’m blaming the media here. When this Vishwas Patil distributed packets and signed files ‘free of costs’ for you, where were these editors & journalists? I’m no one to judge here. Corrupt should be punished…But boss, it is a job of a journalist, to call spade a spade eevrytime, and not as per your convenience..Same Vishwas Patil was written in the same Loksatta in good spirit when his historic novel was published…The story appearing yesterday seems to be some kind of vengeance..Vengeance by a brother! Forget that, like me, every journalist of Maharashtra is aware of more dangerous & corrupt bureaucrats who are still in service or just retired (For e.g. Deshmukh of Pune). Will they show equal zest & vigour to write against them and finish them? Lets see…
2. MLA Amit Satam on rampage…
Long time ago, when R R Patil, ex-Home Minister of Maharashtra then visited a famous Marathi restaurant in Mahim whose owner talks to no-end and irritates when you are enjoying your dinner with family..The owner out of habit went on & on with his bragging so much that even the cool & composed Aaba lost his temper and fired the owner that if he speaks a word now, he will walk out of the restaurant leaving his dinner mid way..The owner knowing what it would attract to anger a Home Minister, quietly walked away…That was it…End of episode!!Lately one more arrogant & bogus Minister of Western Maharashtra visited a Dhaba after his usual round of drinks, for food…Just because the Dhaba ran out of chicken (which the Minister insisted on having) next day a bull dozer came & wiped the dhaba out…The owner whose family was dependant on the dhaba, were soon left to return back to their village… EGO was polished of that “hungry” Minister…But fate had its own way of paying back…The hotel owner in the first case never got Aaba as his customer again (even when he loved the food) and the arrogant Minister never ever got elected again…..But something very different has happened here in our western suburbs of Andheri…our daredevil MLA Amit Satam has acted on complaints of irregularities & illegal structures created by these 2 resto-bars which were quite well known…These restaurant owners tried every nook & corner to reach Mr. Satam for a “compromise” but Satam remained unfazed even after sources claimed, the hoteliers reached MP Poonam Mahajan…
Finally a person in Andheri has come to the scene who will personally keep a check on all illegal structures & act upon it…Sources say, the K ward of the BMC & even the Senior PI’s of the Versova & Juhu Police station pay detailed attention if the complainant is the MLA..Way to go Amit ji…Hope your attention falls on the illegal buildings of Juhu–one man is fighting a lone battle there–Activist Ashok Pandit…
