MD ManojKumar Suryavanshi loves MTDC
Why do I say that the Managing Director of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) loves the MTDC? Because this MD Suryavanshi has been given a better posting last week and YET this man has yet not left MTDC. Last Thursday i.e. 17.07.2025 the orders of Suryavanshi appointed as Municipal Commissioner of the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation were flashed. Now it is almost a week that has passed and Suryavanshi has not yet joined the important Corporation. This is like that Dhole who is time and again insulted by politicians and yet he does not stop trying to get a creamier posting…this must be the reason I saw him almost for 5 days at Vidhan Bhavan at the recently concluded Monsoon Session. Heard Dhole had now laid his eyes, bets on the post of Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporation as the Municipal Commissioner…and if Ministers, MLA’s have stopped mingling with this Dhole, he has caught an MP to get his file moved…But as we all know CMO is already aware of this and let’s see if Dhole gets posted at Nanded or no….
Coming back as to why Suryavanshi has not yet joined Vasai-Virar Corporation? It has seriously got me puzzled… We all know the post of a Commissioner of any Corporation is much better in status than MD of MTDC–secondly, 100% the post of MC is more cream-posting if Suryavanshi loves cream…Thirdly, the Commissioner is always bigger than MD…Then why hasn’t he joined? If Dhole gets an MC post at the Nanded Corporation, he will hire a charter flight the next hour and go….Mr Suryavanshi ask people like Dhole what it is to be a Municipal Commissioner..Informed and asked PS Atul Patne too, but as usual I am not getting any clearer picture…
So as per grapevine, MD Manoj Kumar Suryavanshi is hell bent on doing one last job before he leaves MTDC and for that he was awaiting for the Board Meeting to be held of the department wherein the participants are Minister Shamburaj Desai, MoS Indranil Naik, ACS Finance OP Gupta, ACS Development Planning Rajgopal Deora, Principal Secretary Atul Patne, and MD Himself Manojkumar Suryavanshi. The board meeting was scheduled for yesterday. But as fate is not working on Suryavanshi’s side, the board meeting got cancelled and the proposal which he has already typed, signed and was ready, which he intended to get it cleared in this meeting, got postponed as the Minister postponed the meeting, I am told.
Now what is this one last work of Suryavanshi which he intends to finish it off? My information says, It is a very noble thought that all the employees (senior most) decided to give Suryavanshi a parting gift once Suryanshi transfer orders were out…The gift is very big and slyly these people asked him for a return gift…Return gift is that of doing internal transfers before Suryanshi leaves for Vasai-Virar. Suryavanshi got excited as no one wants to leave the party without having the last byte of the cake, and he Okayed the proposal. Accordingly a list of 7 officers was made..
As per my information, Chandrashekhar Jaiswal was promised the post of General manager from Dy GM which he is now, Hanumant Hede was promised the post of Dy GM from Sr. Manager, Dinesh Kamble again the same he will become Dy GM from Senior Manager, Mrs Manasi Kothari was promised the post of Manager and Mr Prashant Savai and Mr Yogesh Nigude the same post as Manasi Kothari…
But legally it is wrong. How I will explain. The post of General Manager (GM) at the MTDC is already in dispute and as a court case is pending in Bombay High Court. Also the staffing pattern on which MD Suryavanshi has decided to give promotion on Monday i.e. 21.07.2025 has not been approved by GoM Finance Department. I informed the Principal Secretary and I already knew the answer to what Suryavanshi will reply to Patne, if Patne decides to ask for an explanation…MD would argue that CM has announced a 150 days programme in which promotion issues are included, hence we are promoting these officers. But my reason is –why this love for staff after Suryavanshi’s transfer orders were reflected? Why not earlier? Who is pressurising Suryavanshi and why did Suryavanshi ignore the Court Case for the post of GM? And plus the staffing pattern too, that has no approval from the GoM?
One more reason MD Suryavanshi might give…He might say, in 2002 staffing pattern was approved by the Government of Maharashtra, but as per my information, this is not true…IF 2002 case is considered, where is the copy of that GR or approval from Government of the proposal MTDC had sent in 2002? I dug further…Only 1 letter on record is available which was sent by MTDC to the government for approval of staffing patterns but the Government had never reverted back to this…Further in 2018, then Deputy Secretary Tourism, had written a letter to MD-MTDC to prepare the new staffing pattern as per the new DOT and send it to the Government for approval, but even that is not concluded. In fact till 2018 there were 2 promotions given and in 2024 one promotion was given for junior cadre, without approval of the government, and Akruti Bund and the Corporation faced a Court case. Further, Bindunamavali (based on which promotion is given) is also not approved by competent authorities.
Hence there is no policy for promotion in MTDC…Why this MD Suryavanshi is so desperate for the cake, I don’t understand…Ahh, I again can think, Suryavanshi must be like–my next posting is at Vasai-Virar–and there I have to deal with the Thakur’s …and they are lions there…hence whatever cake I get here, let me eat it…
CMO and CS–please issue a show-cause to this Suryavanshi immediately and ask for the delay in following transfer orders…
