Facts of Versova Bandra Sea Link…
Dear Aaditya ji,
Heard your press conference in regard to the “Bhumiputra” not getting job opportunities for the Versova Bandra Sea Link (VBSL). Would like to enlighten you with a few key facts which I have gathered. Well, the company which you didn’t want to mention in your presser is APCO infracting Pvt ltd who has got this job to build the Versova-Bandra sea-link. You said the company did not bother to seek employment for Maharashtrians of our state and went to Chennai to giving jobs there. But, as a matter of fact, with dates I have evidence that the company has interviewed a grand total of 1755 candidates from January ’22 to August’22 in Aamchi Mumbai and few of them got selected too. The experience and skill set required to do these kinds of jobs is extremely special. Otherwise if the company would have recruited any Tom, Dick and Harry, it would have resulted in catastrophe after a few years like what happens to our flyovers or roads done/maintained by the BMC or PWD ruled by us.
Now please understand the technicality. Since this job includes high risk, is a very technical job, and requires to be in the sea; there are extremely few people who are willing to do these kind of jobs. Plus we need people with specific skill sets. Those amongst 1755 who possessed those skills and experience in the Marine Project were recruited. As a matter of fact, Project Director is a hardcore Maharashtrain, so is his assistant so is the Project Manager and many other staff’s in the company. Anyway, as I said the work is of extremely difficult nature, specialised people with special skill-set are available in few parts of our country. One is Tamilnadu and the other is Kolkata. The reason is because of the port development in recent times in these states. Hence the advertisement was given in Chennai.
