Navi Mumbai v/s Police Department….
What is happening in Navi Mumbai these days? If the entire bureaucracy and ministry are ‘taking it easy’ policy, MoS Yogesh Kadam is on a mission. He is young, matured and wanting to perform. If not all but a few Cabinet and MoS are failing to impress us, in my eyes both Yogesh Kadam and Pankaj Bhoyar who are our Ministers of State (MoS) are really working hard and creating an impression towards betterment of our state. I am sure Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and DCM Eknath Shinde are taking due notes of the same.
But today, I will keep Pankaj Bhoyar aside. Today only Yogesh Kadam. Now we all know Navi Mumbai is a hub of many activities which are not soothing to ears nor eyes. But Yogesh Kadam, I am sure, complaints might have reached his ears too, for which he acted.
For the unknown, a week ago, a ladies bar cum orchestra center was raided by Navi Mumbai police. But the whole operation was arranged and planned by MoS Yogesh Kadam. He first sent his men to the bar and when there were rules broken, the police were informed and a raid was carried out. By the way, the entire ladies bar cum orchestra bars of Navi Mumbai are shut today. Everyone is alert of not breaking any rules now. And this is only due to timely attention and strict action by MoS Yogesh Kadam. But only question that did raise few eyebrows was sending private individuals to observe and inform to a Ladies Bar cum Orchestra without any intimation to the police, for me this is a strict NO No, Yogesh bhai…The said bar which was raided, already the APMC police team has lodged some 40 odd cases against the same bar, just for your information.
What is illegal is illegal. How come in the ladies bar cum orchestra, the women were there at the bar 2 hours past the stipulated time? But as per what information I have, they quit ‘performing’ at the stipulated time, but then removing make-up, changing of clothes, arranging Transport takes time na…what was done was correct, nothing taking away from the raid.
Then why do I say that raiding such places is dangerous for any private individual? I am just thinking a bit wild here. What if when this private individual is in a bar filled with drunk men, women performing, shouts ‘it is a raid’ just to create an impression… some Faltu customer who is drunk,is in a ‘mood’ already, and who has blown a few thousands or lakhs, throws a bottle at this private individual for being stopped? What if just to create a ruckus, a performer (girl) falls on the private individual and shouts ‘molestation’? What if someone files an atrocity? Yogesh bhai jamana kharaab hai bhai. This private individual ko na ‘BELL’ (sorry meant Bail) milegi na koi bhi ‘DAAR’ khulega…I will cite an example for you, Yogesh bhai…
This happened at Nagpur during the late ’80’s. A Bihari surname family was running a racket of stealing railway tracks. When the excise department without any police staff went to raid the head of this racketeer family, they arrested him and were taking him to some place to recover the stolen goods, or for statement or something. But here back home where the excise team had come, two or three women of the family started crying and called up the local police station and said there were dacoits at their place few minutes ago ago, they came in kidnapped the head of the family, molested the women of and fled the house, in reality nothing of this had happened. Police swung in action. The car description where the racketeer was taken was given to the police on the call. Few kms and the entire Excise team was stopped by the police and taken to the police station for the crime they never committed. Later everything was sorted, but see the embarrassment the excise department faced, just because they did not call for the assistance of the police. And those were the days with no TV media, no phones, no CCTV…Cautious is the new mantra these days.
Yogesh bhai, a hotelier who is a very close friend of every Nagpurkar owns a hotel in Navi Mumbai. But with this strict action of yours on the ladies bar cum orchestra and closing of hookah parlors, and I am sure the decision is backed by CM DF, Navi Mumbai is changing now. This hotelier from Nagpur was heard thanking the entire Home department in spite of his own losses running in few cross per annum due to closure of hookah parlours. See what an impact you are making…But be cautious, trust your people…
My only request is, dear Yogesh bhai, don’t send private individuals for any raids without police assistance. People talk nonsense. Some say these private individuals act very arrogant, some say the Navi Mumbai police team needs a change including a few police stations…why because I don’t know why? Is anything of this true Yogesh Bhai? Some say these posts are quite revenue driven and someone wants their people here. They are asking me what was the crime of that bar cum orchestra place? It was just that there were girls who stayed at the bar beyond stipulated time. It is a minor offence. Warning, or maybe a penalty on the bar will be sufficient. And now the police are on their toes, that this entire line is closed now…
By the way, the very next day or a day after the Navi Mumbai bar was raided, few bars in Suburban Mumbai near highways of Goregaon. Jogeshwari and Malad raided by the crime branch? Is someone unhappy? On inquiring it was said, such raids happen very frequently in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai too…Then what is the fuss about?
Keep it up, Yogesh bhai, and don’t pay attention to gossip mongers!!
