Will Maharashtra have a new CM?
-Vikrant Hemant Joshi.
Strong speculation is going in the corridors of power in regard to the change in leadership in Maharashtra. CM Uddhav Thackeray who has undergone a spinal cord surgery and who was supposed to get discharged within 3 days, still remains hospitalised. Now as per a report in a daily tabloid, CM Thackeray had developed blood clots which has resulted in some complications wherein he might be out of action for nearly 2 months, claim sources. But everything in the health matter is under control. Excessive cycling during Diwali which led to massive leg pain might have triggered the spinal cord injury. During the customary Diwali meet with the press at Varsha Bungalow, CM Thackeray had complained to few journo’s about this. Also, continuous sitting henceforth on a chair might be a bit difficult too after the surgery hence the speculation.
Now if Uddhav Thackeray decides to step down from the post then who will step in the shoes of the CM? Answer is the post won’t be going anywhere away from the family. Aditya is too junior and majority of the Ministers and the affiliated parties would not give his name a go ahead. Then, Rashmi Thackeray might take over if and only the post of CM is decided to keep within family circles. If not, then Sanjay Raut, Eknath Shinde or even veteran Subhash Desai might be given the reins to head the state.
Now all this is a possibility, if and only if NCP and the Congress agree and it is compulsory for Uddhav Thackeray to step down. NCP might have a claim on the CM post if and if at all it was decided in the Common Minimum Program drafted during the formation of MVA Government. Then we see Supriya Sule taking charge! But will Shivsena say a yes to this? Also, there are rumours floating that Shivsena might back out from this MVA Government and ask Fadnavis to become the CM and Sena would join hands with the BJP and Aditya be made the deputy, if time comes. A lot of if and buts, but surely current CM Uddhav Thackeray needs rest for at least 3 months, so these topics are discussed but within closed doors. You never know the current set-up might run for 3 months too, all depends on when Thackeray gets discharged and what is the doctor’s advice. But stress and sitting in one chair for longer hours is a strict NO NO for the current CM as of now.
Also, 17th November marks death anniversary of Late Shri Balasaheb Thackeray. CM Uddhav Thackeray was in the hospital, wife Rashmi was by his side and Aditya was in the UK, only Tejas Thackeray was seen at the ‘smarak’ (memorial). Now on the 29th November, this MVA government completes 2 years of successful formation, it will be a point to be observed if Uddhav Thackeray makes a public appearance or no? If not, then the speculation gathers momentum!
Moving on, after my blog on current Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte retiring at the month end and whether it will be Manukumar Shrivastava or Sujata Saunik, I have learnt through top sources that now current CS Sitaram Kunte has applied for an extension. The file has already been processed here but will he get the extension? It all depends on how CM Thackeray puts in his weight in Delhi.
Also, just for you all to know, a few days ago I had tweeted that around 50 officers and half a dozen Ministers of this MVA government have planned a trip to expensive Dubai (it is nearly 4 times the cost right now; from your flight tickets to stay) for the 31st December. My uncle, journalist Yadu Joshi, is already there with family. By the way, after I tweeted, within 2 Hours (I have it on my Twitter) Minister Nawab Malik decided to make his visit to Dubai public and claimed he had taken all the necessary permissions. Kuch bhi bolo, Apna collar tight ho gaya!
I think I mentioned it in my videos (For Marathi Youtube Channel “Lakshyavedh 2020” and for English my own channel on YouTube is there) and on Twitter and Facebook that from where does Nawab Malik get all this inside information of Sameer Wankhede? And I have left a hint for Sameer Wankhede, ‘that it has to be someone close’ else how is it possible for Malik to get school certificates and wedding albums and Nikahnama and so on ? Someone commented, Malik’s sister and Wankhede’s first wife are close friends. Hmmm…
