OFF THE RECORD review on some of todays headlines….
1. Dadar Parsee Gymkhana flouting a lot of rules, BMC turns blind eye
The Estate Department’s boss Chandrashekhar Chore has a special place in his heart for Dadar Parsee Gymkhana located at the plush Five Gardens area of Mumbai. The club is flouting every possible rule and yet the Estate Department is ignoring several complains filed by residents of this area, who too are notable personalities of our state. I had heard about Chore– about his little mischiefs here and there like holding payments of architects and builders and only after “amicable settlement” releasing bills– but this particular attitude towards the Dadar Parsee Gymkhana is not expected from a bit better Asst Commissioner than others-Chore. The irregularities now–The PLAYGROUND of The Gymkhana often conducts huge marriages/ receptions which in turn as mentioned in the indenture should be only given by the Gymkhana after securing permission from the Municipal Commissioner is one of them, if there is marriage, then there is food which is cooked on the playground which is again not permissible by the law, then the leftover food is often thrown in the nearby sewage which clogs the main water line causing mini-flood like situation in Wadala every year, then there is usage of generators which cause sound pollution to next level, and finally due to the clogging of the main sewage with leftovers of food rodents are to be spotted in every building/bungalow of the area. It is said the residents of 5 Gardens have time and again written to the estate department’s Chore who just turns a blind eye to the complaints filed. No guesses, as to why he must be doing so !! Time for the Municipal authorities and RTI activists to look into it….
2. Bharat Bandh again today…
Congress and all the opposition parties including the MNS have called for Bharat Bandh due to the hike in fuel prices. Yes, the concern is genuine as the prices of fuel have increased two folds. But what I fail to understand is that by calling for a bandh, does it really solve the purpose? The government does not budge one bit. Time & again be it any agitation “Bandh” has become a tool in the hands of fools to hold our cities and country at ransom. People who are dependant on daily wages, schools who are confused to the last minute cancel holidays and conduct schools on weekends due to this unnecessary bandhs, that obviously disturb their normal course of working. If you want to create noise, the noise has to be at the right place and for the right people. Also, even if some 10000 parties have supported the Bandh, lets wait for the whole day to see how many actually participate in this…
3. Ram Kadam–you arrogant MLA...
No, he does not deserve any write up on this…No importance should be given. All his yatra’s which he conducts to various religious shrines for his people in Ghatkoper by the money he has and whatever small “right work” he does— all got washed away due to his negligent statement he made, which grabbed attention. I was never a fan of his! Many of my colleagues in my profession drool over his richness and cling to him the minute they spot him on the 6th floor of Mantralaya, but it does not impress me one bit…never had since I have known him since 1991/92. I have seen him as a person getting Paan for his then boss Rahul Mahajan…so the person who use to run to get Paan and today roaming in Bentley’s (we all know how this transformation happened) has to have a loud mouth and an arrogant attitude. To top it, read somewhere he is the worst performing MLA of Mumbai since last 2 years. Talk about reigns of our city/country win hands of such people and we talk about progress!
