OFF THE RECORD review on some of the headlines…
What is happening in Pune city?
A week does not pass if you don’t hear any negative news about Pune . I feel there is no fear of cops and the fear of law left in Pune any more. I am really surprised that once known as a cultural city, a town known for education institutes has unfortunately become another ‘Mirzapur’. I feel today Mumbai is much safer than Pune. Reasons are plenty just to mention few–No fear of law, brazen money and muscle power to uncouth uneducated newly rich politicians, corrupt bureaucrats and dalaals, lawlessness everywhere, traffic and real estate mess everywhere, and the most important reason –free flow of students from all across Bharat and the world, and the influence of western world that has made Pune a drugs infested city of Maharashtra, a city that is synonymous with crime, corruption, show off, and yes it is safe to call Pune the ‘Delhi of Maharashtra’. What has happened due to no control over the city, this bogus “Pune Culture” is slowly capitulating to other cities like Nasik, Nagpur and Sambhajinagar. ‘Pune culture’ has slowly made its way to these towns and if not controlled now, another 2 to 3 years these cities too, will start deteoritating. Failed politicians, most corrupt bureaucrats, casteism and insane amounts of money and muscle power have brought the downfall of Pune. There are incidents like Porsche hit and run, terror of Koyata gang, murders, accidents, and all sorts of crime in Pune are manifested these days. And the problem is if Pune is not controlled NOW, this city will not leave western Maharashtra or parts of Marathwada being influenced from its newly acquired ‘Delhi’ status. CM Devendra Fadnavis on an immediate basis should change the entire bureaucracy team and take the management of Pune in his own hands. Let the CMO take care of Pune. All files of Pune, CMO will process, else Devendra ji, Pune is ‘exploding and becoming unlivable’
Something big is happening…
On my X account on 24th of September I had posted, “Maharashtra politics is not for the weak hearted ! Kal ke Dushman, Aaj Phir Dost hai, Yahan Koi Bhai Nahi Hota Hai… Samachar Samapt!” I am telling you as the days are passing, this news is getting more and more confirmation. I see a huge change in political circles, as once sworn enemies have buried their hatchet and once again the strings will get attached. Why do I say so? An MLA went up to his party head and gave a few documents to prove corruption charges of this government. The party head after the minute this MLA left, passed on the documents to the concerned person in the Government and gave the name of his own MLA too…Didn’t I say, Maharashtra is not for the weak hearted!
IPS postings.
Time and again, if the DGP of Maharashtra or the Mumbai CP meets CM late at night at Varsha and if the meetings last for more than an hour, the next day my phone starts ringing, when are the transfers happening? Yes, few senior postings in Mumbai, few Commissioners of MMR and Maharashtra are due for transfer since quite sometime now. But don’t the CM say or not, wait for the Corporation and Local body elections to get over, then the transfers will happen.. I don’t think the Home department will change barring a few (that too if CM decides) who are just ‘uncontrollable’ now.
One IPS ka gossip..
So one of my senior IPS friends got transferred to a city in Maharashtra and he went there as Commissioner of Police. He was known to enjoy his drinks and was a small time flirt, stories that I had only heard! But then when he went to this new city from Mumbai, he became friendly with the “Page 3” of that city, politicians and a few industrialists. Now these wicked players (who are already in their 70’s) were known for their farmhouse parties, flying abroad at the drop of the hat and for womanising too. Girlfriends of all these oldies at the farmhouse parties flirted with this officer occasionally (as he was in his late 40’s) but he dared not to make any move on them. This officer leaving all morals behind saw a huge ‘opportunity’ to come and enjoy his life in this town having backing of the biggies of this city and himself being the top cop. Once a girl who worked for a prestigious company went to him for her company promotion. He quickly learnt (as this monkey has learnt the tricks now how to play) that this girl is single again, in her late 30’s and good looking…Flirty messages started…now look at the fate ….this girl happened to know me closely! I called the officer and told him just one thing, Bhai, woh meri behen jaisi hai (she is like a sister to me) and please stop your antics or else….Messages stopped tricks stopped…but now I heard this officer is a PLAYAA now…
