OFF THE RECORD review on some of the headlines today…
Thank You CMO and Dr P. Anbalgan…
When your trust on how the system works is broken more than once, there are few incidents and events which give you that ray of hope and you start believing that the government machinery is in better hands, at the end of the day. In this case, for me that ray of hope is none other than newly appointed Principal Secretary Dr. P Anbalagan and obviously the CMO. Everyone knows that last week I had written about how the MIDC office building renovation contract of Rs. 800 crores was supposed to go to “Capacite”; by the way one official had promised to another Delhi based company too that it will be their company who will get the job. One Bhat had played all his cards right to manage the whole tender with senior MIDC officials, but when the expose happened through this blog, extension was given till the 2nd of April, and in the meantime these racketeers had planned to increase the estimates and go for the signature for the Principal Secretary on the 2nd April. In between my blog came. Now the contract itself has got postponed now, as per sources. Believe it or not, I think the Industries department and the CMO took serious cognizance of this blog, and from what I hear, the tender is being reconsidered now with fair terms and conditions being put in. Now the tender will be floated once again, and the department wants fair competition. The selection process will be transparent now and no Company will be given any ‘management’ time. A leaf should be taken out of this by the MIDC and the liasioning officers that the CMO and the Secretary are in no mood to entertain any type of management or high handedness in anything related to the Industries department, especially, since this department is closely watched by CM Devendra Fadnavis himself. Similarly, request our ‘Dabang’ar officer to be transparent while awarding Mithi contract, else there are people who are watching.
Kumbh Mela at Nashik…
For Kumbh Mela to be held in Nashik, a very prestigious event for the Devendra Fadnavis government, shortlisting of companies for building the Tent city in 100 acres is going on…Now if my sources are to be believed, one Tourism Department senior most officer (BN or something he is called) is liasioning for his favourite company to get the contract. The company which he is said to be favouring is either E factor or Angel Advertising, as this officer is close to both the companies. Also, there is another company who is promised a big commitment. Best part is this company was about to get blacklisted because at an event, the mike went off in front of the Chief Minister at a function held at Nagpur. Secondly, another company, Dome or someone else, failed similarly at a function held at Jio Garden again when the CM was present, where the mike went off… it is a rule that if any such thing happens especially when the CM or the PM are present, straight away blacklisting happens. If again my sources are to be believed, show-cause notices were issued to both the companies which faulted at Nagpur and BKC event, but later they were pulled down or managed due to political pressures. Now, one of these faulted companies has been promsied big works at Kumbh. This company has ZERO experience in getting any big work forget the event as big as Kumbh…And yes, this company is not even empaneled with the state government. Mr Girish Mahajan, you are in-charge of this Kumbh. Please it is a genuine request, this event will bring crores of revenue to the state during Kumbh and it is of utmost importance to CM Devendra Fadnavis. Make sure you select the best company which has experience and they are empaneled with the State Government. No giving work to bakwaas companies. We are watching!
