MIDC & some more…
Things are back to where they are at MIDC. It means the corruption, cartelization has returned with the old team. Yes, the old timers are back!
In the contract of the MIDC office building which is valued at Rs. 800 crores, my bets are on “Capacite projects” being awarded the contract through his relationship with the bureaucrat in charge & who is famous for his controversial past. This arrangement with the bureaucrat has been made via someone called ‘Bhat’ who too is known for cutting deals with the bureaucrat especially in the Urban Development Department and has patronage of an influential person residing in Poona.
Surprisingly when J-Kumar, Relcon & Ahluwalia had put their bids, the tender which was due on the 24th March was extended to 2nd April citing some small changes thereby giving time for the preferred bidder to push for cartelization. A key component in the bid has been made mandatory to have a tie up and that tie up is controlled by the bureaucrat who has been responsible for getting the same put in place at the insistence of his wheeler dealer, Mr Bhat. A huge sum is apparently rumoured to have been committed by Mr Bhat. Surprisingly this arrangement has not gone well with all the other bidders as they were under the impression that under the new regime of Honourable Chief Minister, it would be a clean administration where capable bidders would be able to bid in a healthy competitive environment thereby saving money to the government exchequer.
Earlier the likes of Madhani and Walawalkar would call the shots, now it seems for bigger tenders those companies favoured by Mr Bhat will have the last laugh. I hope the Honourable CM takes note of such wheeler dealers and takes them to task before the good contractors start losing faith in the Government tendering process.
Raj Thackeray…
Yesterday Raj Thackeray was saying every word with which I could connect entirely.
Raj Thackeray should open a Management Contract company and enter into an agreement with the Government.
The way he described our rivers and videos shown during his rally, I think we all should give BMC in his hands for a trial period of 1 year till elections for the BMC happens..let him prove himself and show us Mumbaikars if he is really what he says or it was all said just for claps at the rally !
