IAS, IPS and Rameshwar Naik!
Congratulations to Iqbal Singh Chahal who was earlier working as ACS to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, is appointed as Additional Chief Secretary- Home today. As far as the rumour market goes about Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik going to the election commission, let me clear it for once and all–she is NOT going anywhere. She will continue to be the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra state. Also, one of the Corporations MD and VP was telling me that CS Sujata Saunik is handling the post of CS with brilliance. She conducts meetings as a CEO would do. No time-pass and no beating around the bush. She is working tirelessly, balancing 2 DCM’S and the CM’s, mind you it is not easy for any CS, and at the same time work is happening at lightning speed. Decisions are quick and taken in a very professional manner. Also, she is entertaining complaints, point of view of others too in the meeting before arriving at any decision, which is very unheard of. Generally CS are known to give orders and directives, but Saunik is taking everyone’s point of view and as said, is working like a CEO of any multinational, for the state. Kudos to CS Sujata Saunik and ACS-Home Iqbal Singh Chahal. As far as Chahal goes, he is a man who knows how to handle people. Man-management has been his forte even when he was BMC chief during the MVA government. I am sure there will be a smooth coordination between him, DGP Rashmi Shukla and Mumbai CP Vivek Phansalkar, and Special CP-Deven Bharti.
In regard to upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections, few postings of Mumbai Police might take place. All Joint Commissioners will NOT be changed as of now, except Addl CP-North, Rajiv Jain. In his place, Shashikumar Meena, Abhishek Trimukhe or Vinita Sahu are the front runners for the post. 4 DCP’s of Mumbai might see the change due to that election commission rule of 2 years at the same posting. Zone 4 Prashant Kadam, DCP Zone 6 Hemraj Rajput, Zone 9 Raj Tilak Roshan and DCP Port-Sanjay Latkar.
What a man Devendra Fadnavis is! Do you know an order that was passed in 2006, it is implemented by none other than Devendra Fadnavis. While the Chief Minister Medical Assistance Cell is working on extending monetary assistance to poor patients in need, a new medical cell under state’s deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will now work to ensure a bed for poor patients at charitable hospitals run by trusts. Maharashtra has over 468 charitable hospitals. As per provisions under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 and Bombay High Court orders, around 10% of the total beds in these hospitals should be kept reserved for poor patients with free treatment, and 10 per cent beds for treatment at concessional rates. The total number of beds that can be made available under this is around 11,000. And the entire scheme under DCM Fadnavis is looked by none other than Rameshwar Naik, yes, the right hand man of Girish Mahajan. As I knew, in Maharashtra only two leaders go out of the way and do anything if anyone approaches them for medical help–one is Hasan Mushrif and the second one is Girish Mahajan. Now his right hand man, Rameshwar is in charge of this special cell. The biggest of big hospitals in Mumbai and all metros of Maharashtra come under this scheme. A simple email with prescription and details of the patient has to be made on [email protected] and rest will be taken care of. Ahh, while the CM’s relief fund does have financial limitations, this one started by Fadnavis has already done operations and transplants worth a few lakhs– free of cost! Rameshwar Naik is doing a wonderful job, tirelessly!
