Ashwajit’s ‘Car’ nama…
One newspaper or a channel does an investigative story (as per them it is investigation) reports it and the next day ‘copy’ and ‘paste’ is a common formula used by other media houses, both TV & print here in our state. Don’t you often get confused how come every first page newspaper is the same across the mainstream media? One-sided stories are always dangerous, especially when it comes to such cases, which we are talking about. I think only the TOI was able to do justice to the news by covering both sides. I have gone in detail with this case and hence will leave you to judge the outcome. With one sided story, a reputation is at stake, mental health is at stake, one should remember this before doing any story in the media!
Cutting the long story short, everyone is aware as to what MSRDC MD Anil Gaiwkad’s son Ashwajit has or has not done, right? If you don’t, read all the papers today! Yes, he is a BJP functionary! Now coming to the story and the other part as we all know one side only!
Ashwajit and his family including his wife and kids were having a get together at a place in Thane. There was family and there were friends. As per what I gathered, it wasn’t at 4am in the morning but at 1:30 or 2 am this girl had started texting Ashwajit wanting to meet him at that hour. She also reached that Courtyard Hotel and barged into the party. Yes, she did barge in where Ashwajit was with his friends and family. She was intoxicated and just because Ashwajit did not respond to her calls and texts at midnight, this girl started abusing and hitting him and his friends. Might be there was a past between the two, but Ashwajit maintains he and she were just friends. Now Ashwajit also claims that he has paid her money on several occasions; even if he was in a relationship with her then, they must have broken up in the recent past, it seems. We all know how difficult it is for a young girl to go through a breakup of a relationship or even a friendship especially when the boy is a son to a top bureaucrat and from a financially strong background or simply, the girl is in love head over heels and gets heartbroken!
When she started hitting him and his friends, Ashwajit and his family fled from the spot in his car with his family, totally embarrassed! She then clung on to his driver’s car and the driver too wanted to leave as his boss had already left. But then as soon as the driver sped, she fell off and in the process she hurt herself badly as it was a moving car which she clung on too. Now when the driver saw this from the rear-view mirror that she had fallen down, immediately she was rushed to a nearby ‘good’ hospital and all the formalities were completed by Ashwajit’s driver Sagar, and his friends. When they thought they had informed the patient’s sister and handed her all her valuables, next comes that (I am told) this madam with all her injuries has changed the hospital.
Media and social media went on to report that why wasn’t the culprit arrested. Aree baba, the Investigating officer who is in charge of the case, was out for another case for 3 days. When he came and started his investigation, I am told, it can be clearly seen from the CCTV footage that nowhere Ashwajit is in the frame when the girl fell from the car and injured herself. How is the attempt to murder or hit and run case against Ashwajit? By the way, what the girl had tweeted or put on her instagram story V/S what is written in the FIR are two completely different things. In one she blames Ashwajit and in the other it is said the driver dashed her.
Yes, what ever happened in the past is between the boy and the girl. If things don’t go right, or if the relationship goes kaput, why is the boy to be blamed always? Just because he is a son and nephew of a famous person, so what? Just because he is monetarily strong, does the girl have the right to do anything? Similarly just because the boy has a powerful family and he is rich, does not mean the boy can do anything and go scot free. If investigation proves that Ashwajit is at fault, surely he is liable for punishment. The girl claims Ashwajit bit her, has that been mentioned in any report from the hospital?
In this particular case I am angry with the media. Just because it is a news item we journalists have forgotten to see the other side. We have to do a background check of both the complainant and against whom the complaint is. Have these sorts of cases been done before too by either of them? Has one even tried speaking with Ashwajit and family or take their side of the story too? A lot of cases of habitual blackmailing are coming to light these days, especially with honey trapping, hence this is necessary.
I don’t know, but let me tell you, not this case per se, but yes honey trapping and later blackmailing has become a very common practice these days for women who are here in the city of dreams and living ‘alone’, to make it big. So now my friends, if Ashwajit is not even in the CCTV footage when the girl fell off the car, is Ashwajit to be blamed? And by the way, if the hospital was changed within 4 hours of the accident, was the toxicology report of the girl done in the earlier hospital? Let there be a complete investigation and let there be justice.
