End of MVA!
Is it really the end of MVA? It is an end to this government in power but surely only the 2024 Lok Sabha and Vidhan-sabha elections will be the deciding factors in regard to the future of Maha Vikas Aghadi and its existence. But as of now, MVA has gone, and what truly will come in force will be the government that the Maharashtrian had chosen. Shiv Sena+BJP! It took 2.5 years of hard and long fought battle, help from the Centre and of course the dedication, focus, belief, discipline, and courage of none other than- Devendra Gangadharrao Fadnavis to make the mighty MVA come on its knees!
But this was not easy. When the Ajit Pawar-Fadnavis early morning fiasco happened, not all, till very recently, even in the BJP were on one page about Fadnavis being the leader and he had a lot of heat within the party. Centre had to intervene and one message from the top was that only Fadnavis is the leader which led to many anti-devendra to come on one page today. Then began the fight against the MVA, and today the results are for everyone to see.
But didn’t it strike anyone as to why suddenly all this happening after 2.5 years? Why suddenly a moment came that all of a sudden everything went in favour of the BJP? I had written months ago that yes, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar group (Dhananjay Munde and all) are Devendra Fadnavis’s men, (in the sense the NCP group is only concerned if DF has power, they will sleep with him) but then why didn’t these revolt at the beginning ? Now this is what I can assume. Is it safe to say that THIS TIME the MVA government came in trouble only because Delhi supported the Maharashtra BJP? Till now innumerable times BJP Maharashtra felt that they will topple this MVA, but it didn’t happen. BJP toppling the MVA had literally become a joke. But not this time; and you know why Delhi supported in toppling the MVA? I can put the blame on one speech by Uddhav Thackeray. It was the same speech in which Uddhav criticised the RSS and made fun of the black cap. It was decided then and there. I am really surprised till now that Uddhav didn’t understand that it was only RSS and PM Modi who were on his side and were waiting for him to come with the BJP. Innumerable fake promises by Uddhav in these 2.5 years were also forgiven by Modi. But the last speech on RSS just blew the lid!
Imagine, even after having proof against people like Anil Parab why is he still not in jail. As I had tweeted (@joshivikrant75) when I was abroad for the past 15 days, when PM Modi came to Mumbai, I am told by sources that PM Modi insisted on meeting then CM Uddhav Thackeray for 10 minutes alone at the Governor House, Mumbai. The Governor was politely asked to vacate the room & my gut feel says PM Modi must have given his final ultimatum to Uddhav to come and form Government with the state BJP. But yet again false promises and assurances, I guess. Hence after 2 days MLC elections were slated to take place and that night itself Shivsena was hurt and bruised, deeply & badly! Eknath Shinde and 25 Sena MLA’s flew to Gujarat and then to Assam declaring a revolt.
So Delhi had its way! If this could be done now in a week’s time, what was the problem 2.5 years ago? A lot will be kept under the carpet. Don’t just count Pawar’s yet. I am telling you since day 1, supari in 2019 was of Sena. Who took it, don’t need to guess. Today in all elections held between 2019 to 2022 only Sena candidates have lost. 1. Shrikant Deshpande. 2. Gopikishan Bajoria and 3 in the latest Rajya Sabha was Sanjay Pawar. How come and why such things happen it is high time for Sena to introspect.
What reasons the revolted 40 odd MLA’s gave in their speeches was absolutely true. Uddhav Thackeray had become unreachable to even senior MLA’s. His party was controlled by the Yuva Sena functionaries and interference of wife Rashmi Thackeray was causing discomfort on many fronts, I am told! Ace and most trusted lieutenant Milind Narvekar was kept away and the likes of Anil Parab had assumed the role of strategists. Nothing wrong, aree but this same Narvekar who has been a shielded Thackeray’s in so many storms, you straight away disown him? Not correct. Believe me when I tell you this, many Sena MLAs came to vote during the latest elections on personal phone calls made by Narvekar, else Uddhav would have been exposed there also.
You didn’t know anything about administration, Uddhav claimed, but mere dependence on Ajoy Mehta cost a lot of nice bureaucrats to stay away from him. It was because of these ignored bureaucrats that Kirit Somaiya and Fadnavis and many others could ‘technically’ get you in trouble Uddhav ji, because only these ignored officers knew the system and had the papers and files with them.
Also, after the MLA’s left Sena, the initial revolt Sena or Yuvasena did like burning offices or effigies or breaking offices of Sena MLA’s, all your’s and Aaditya efforts to clean the image of Sena and emerge as “Corporate Shiv Sena” has come back to that of hooliganism.
Now, might be Sharad Pawar can come up and propose Aaditya’s name as LoP to you Mr Tahckeray. Do not do this! Anyway, it will be impossible for him to counter a CM like Fadnavis in the House but my suggestion would be Uddhav ji, let Aaditya take his own steps. Do not ensure his political loss for a long time. Like you said in your farewell speech, let him also travel Maharashtra and be available to an ordinary Sainik. Gone are the days when Thackeray’s name was enough, now Thackeray will have to work. Mere beautifying only beautiful areas is not enough (Worli his constituency). Let him travel to Vidharbha and Marathwada and build a stronger base for the party than ever before. Keep him grounded. He has matured as a leader, I can say and he will do wonders if he leaves the comforts of being a ‘Thackeray’.
As for the BJP, my dear readers, howsoever you sulk and make a list and give it to Devendra Fadnavis or any other CM about ‘haramkhor’ people who went against him in one night, make a note–only these people be it dalaal’s, media guys, bureaucrats and businessmen will be seen alongside him. Because they have what it matters to any CM. Dalaal’s have system in their pockets, bureaucrats are few who actually work, and the media has mainstream channels and papers that reach everywhere.
